Britney Spears’ performance at the VMA’s was torn a part as she was apparently ‘drunk, fat, and lip singing.’ No matter what the people are never satisfied. There are always new stories coming out, one minute someone’s gone anorexic, next someone’s addicted to crack because she’s too skinny, or they gain a little weight, now suddenly there pregnant with someone’s boyfriend’s baby. I think it is all ridiculous. Honestly, I like the fact that Britney came out on stage the way she was, as if she wasn't afraid to hide it. She is definitely not fat, nor is she as skinny as she once was. But I definitely think that she is an average size, which most people in the real world are. With all these people making fun of her, I believe it is coming back on us as a community. Before we could look at magazines and be like "wow she’s so pretty, look at her body, she’s so in shape, etc"... and then there would always be someone who said "yah but that’s her job, she’s rich, she stays fit with only the best, they have motivation to stay fit." and then us as girls would realize that is true, we can't compare ourselves to famous models, singers, etc. But now that there making fun of her that is basically making fun of every one of us because she is an average size. I believe that Brittany Spears has become a mess, but she is not going to get better by getting hounded on all the time for every little thing!The media is never pleased with everyday average stories that show the good. Where was the media in the beginning when Britney was still sane?... where were all the stories telling us about the great things she was doing for her children?... All the media ever talks about is all the bad or shocking stories. People can’t honestly believe that she never does anything good.
Clearly Britney Spears is going through a lot and she is not going to get better by being criticized every time she tries to bring herself back on the scene.

I agree with the beginning of your blog, with the statement about how the media concentrates too much on the outside appearance of celebrities. However, I'm not sure I completely agree with your general idea of Britney Spears. Mind you, I don't hate Britney Spears, I just think you're giving her a little too much credit. There are many proven cases of Spears calling the journalists and hinting them to where she will be that day. Yeah, she's been getting a lot of bad media lately...but some, if not most, is all her fault. So when it comes to her VMA performance, it was anticipated that she would be ridiculed, and she still went out there. I give her kudos, as she must have a ton of guts for actually going out there and doing that, but her less then stellar performance only fueled the fire. On one hand, I agree with you, the media is NEVER pleased...but she was kind of asking for it.
Britney is going through a lot, though like Brittany said, some of it is her fault. She did just have two kids and it was expected that she wouldn't look her best, but did she really have to wear that outfit? And if it was chosen for her couldn't she have disagreed? That was asking for it, though I'm not sure she could have disagreed, but she was the higher power, not the costume designers-that outfit was a joke.
I do feel bad for her, she's going through a lot and I'm sure she is sick in some way if what Brittany says about her phoning the journalists is true.
People aren't pleased because they don't have to be, celebrities are asking for it once they step into the spotlight.
I agree with what Cassidy has said because Britney is not all that bad but I think is getting to a point where she can’t stand anything. Cassidy had also mentioned that Britney is average weight and that if people make fun of her they are making fun of those all those other women in the world who are average weight but not famous. I don’t think people should criticize like that because it doesn’t affect only one person it can affect everybody in the world. One thing I disagree about is that her VMA performance, she did have the guts to go out and do her thing but I think she could’ve dressed more appropriately. Overall, I think Britney is a strong woman because of all she has gone through.

I must say though, yes I do agree that she definitely shouldn't have been wearing the clothing that she was, but i still have to give her credit for it as it would be pretty hard to get up in basically a bikini infront of millions of people.
Brittany, if it is true that she does call to say where she is going, then yes she is asking for attention, but I do not believe that she asks for all the negative attention, and clearly it is doing something to her as she is getting worse everyday.
If the media just left her alone for a while, I wonder where she'd be 6 months from now, if there was no people following her around trying to mess with her head.
